CLINICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIES
INSTRUCTOR/ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
Full-time, tenure-track appointment as Instructor or Assistant Professor available beginning August 2012 in the Clinical Laboratory Technologies Department. Appointment contingent on budget approval. Assistant Professor rank requires master’s degree in clinical laboratory science or related field with either three years teaching experience or an appropriate combination of teaching, relevant work experience and scholarly activity. Instructor rank requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science or related field with relevant work experience strongly preferred; approved master’s required within four years of hire to continue appointment. Clinical experience in multiple clinical areas preferred. New York State licensed, nationally certified or other state licensure as a Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician/Clinical Laboratory Technician required.
Prior teaching, especially in a community college environment, is preferred. Preference given for demonstrated commitment to the student-centered community college philosophy, familiarity with the use of technology in the classroom, online teaching experience or a willingness to learn, excellent interpersonal skills, leadership potential, and willingness to work collaboratively in a collegial setting within the academic division. Candidates must be legally authorized to accept employment in the United States without now or in future requiring employer’s sponsorship for employment (visa) status. Salary range is $37,150 to $48,701 for Assistant Professor; range for Instructor is $34,718 to $43,400. Salary offer will be based on qualifications.
