Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences
Faculty Position

Faculty Position: 
Full-time 12 month non-tenured faculty position at the Clinical Assistant 
or Clinical Associate Professor level in the Department of Clinical 
Laboratory Sciences in the School of Health Technology and Management. 
Beginning date of employment is September 2011.


Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Master’s degree (PhD preferred) in clinical 
laboratory sciences or related biomedical science, certification in 
MT(ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) or clinical chemistry specialty and must hold or be 
eligible for a New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist  license. 
In addition applicant must have 6 years clinical experience in a clinical 
chemistry laboratory and 3 years (5 years preferred) teaching experience 
at the undergraduate or graduate level.
        A 10 – 15 minute presentation of your teaching abilities is 
required at time if interview.  This presentation of your choice should 
include didactic and laboratory.

Responsibilities and Duties:
We are seeking an individual with good organizational skills, excellent 
oral and written communication skills to teach, conduct and manage 
learning experiences, maintain current programs, develop new programs, 
evaluate student achievement, and provide input into new curriculum 
development. Primary teaching responsibility is clinical chemistry 
(lectures and laboratory courses).  In addition to teaching other 
responsibilities include student advising and student recruitment; 
involvement in scholarly activities including research, grants, 
publications; knowledge and application of current NAACLS accreditation 
requirements; and service to the university, community and the Clinical 
Laboratory Sciences Profession. 


Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
